68′ SWB Converted to LWB with 3.0SC engine

Exciting times for us here at Cavendish.  We have finally finished the 1968 Porsche 911 engine conversion for a client of ours.  Our client has owned the cars since the early nineties.  Back then he had the car converted to a long wheel base and fully resprayed.  He also acquired a 3.0 SC engine which was literally a box of bits!

We were commissioned to re-build the engine, fit a front oil-cooler and re-wire the car to run on the later engine whilst maintaining the original instrument clocks and dash controls. We also modified and setup the suspension to improve handling and aesthetics. A challenging but fun project. Needless to say that both the client and ourselves [...]

We are pleased to welcome back a beautiful Porsche 964 which we previously did some upgrades on.  Our original remit was to fit 993 turbo brake calipers, discs and pads.  Upgrade the suspension to a Bilstein B16 coil over kit, Fit 18″ Veloce Alloy wheels to allow for the enlarge braking system. Fit RS Air ducts, clear lenses and Teardrop door mirrors.  Fit stage 2 twin outlet custom stainless steel exhaust and factory A/C system running updated R134a gas.

We are now about to upgrade the engine to Mahle 3.8 piston and cylinders, fit ATP Direct to Head Throttle bodies, replace to ECU with a programmable system, fit an RS lightweight clutch and flywheel. As we rebuilt the engine last year, both top and bottom, [...]

CavendishPorscha Ltd are authorised agents for Evans Waterless Coolant. This revolutionary product is catching the attention of many Porsche enthusiasts, Porsche press and Specialists. So what is it? First used in engines some 100 years ago, water-based coolants are universally acknowledged to have inherent physical and chemical limitations that effect long-term reliability, increase maintenance costs and often restrict engine performance. Statistics published by manufacturers and motoring organisations confirm, that water is the root cause for 60% of engine breakdowns and 40% of catastrophic failures. Whilst internal damage goes mostly unnoticed in new engines, the cumulative effects of corrosion, cavitation and cyclic pressurisation become increasingly apparent over time. For decades engine designers and antifreeze formulators have persisted with water whilst endeavouring to overcome its intrinsic shortcomings.  In 1993, Jack [...]
